Generally agree with this.
Although having the ability to [globally] change the Name of any fixture used would also help.
It appears that the symbol is assigned to the fixture, when it could more usefully be assigned against the Optics as well. Especially for Source 4 type units, where the selection of the lens immediately updates the symbol to the appropriate angle.
 

Yes please! I came here to post number 2 (what I would consider, a bug).  I do agree with all your other suggestions though too.

Was contemplating switching away from Vectorworks for my basic plots, but this is a dealbreaker for me as I often publish PDF's of incremental versions of a show as it develops, changing fixtures qtys as I go.
