Is there a way to see the firmware version or DMX Table a fixture was built using?

I'm very interested in this software. I tried the demo and it's so simple compared to other visualizer that I've messed with, which I love. The only thing that's preventing me from buying is that I can't find what firmware version or DMX table version a fixture was built with in the fixture library, so I have no way to be sure that my real world fixtures are going to function the same as the fixtures in Capture. If there's a way to see that information then I'm sold, and I will be purchasing the full version.

I sent an email to library@capture.se, but I thought I would ask here as well in case this is common knowledge and I just don't know where to look. Thanks for the help!

It is good software, however quite a few lower end fixtures don't work as they should in Capture...usually the lower end stuff but it's also what a majority of bands etc use... I have requested fixes for years sending in details of what doesn't work along with manuals etc but Capture just send the same reply fobbing me off. I have spoken to a few users about this and they all get the same response. As I say it's good software and you will always get a reply, however they never address the fixture issues.

The fixtures in the library are very much up to date. You can assume the latest firmware version for most fixtures. If you have purchased the software and sent in a fixture library request you can assume a new library built within a few days (usually within 24 hrs.) If you did not pay for the software, you are not getting the same service as paying customers I suppose...

I could NOT disagree with you more. Capture’s support and that includes library requests is second to none. So I am not sure what type of fixtures you are using, but I might put a little money on cheap Chinese knockoffs of big brands….and these are notoriously difficult to implement, because the DMX table might change between batches with no explanation or warning.

In the fixture's properties menu (selected items), there is a field named Version where you can see the version number of the fixture of our library. This is not directly connected with the firmware version of the manufacturer. But if you patch the fixture and choose Fixtures Mode on the Universes tab, you may check the DMX channels of the fixture so you can verify that this is the one that matches your case.
In case you are not aware of, if you click on the Mode field of the the fixture's properties menu (selected items) you will see a drop down menu of all available modes along with their channel counts.
Last but not least, if you come across of anything missing or needs correction in our library, you may always send us a relevant request at library@capture.se and we will add/fix this in a couple of days provided we support it and we can find proper documentation.

The Solaris Flare is the first one that comes to mind - i've been checking in for years at this point and they're just not interested in making the Capture version match the actual fixture.

Have you asked the library department (library@capture.se) to fix whatever you find not working as expected?

    I did in Jan 2023.

    You responded:

"Unfortunately, we have not yet made the implementations needed to properly support these fixtures. We apologize for the inconvenience and please stay tuned to our future updates/upgrades as we constantly implement new technologies."
