Fixture Duplicate & Import

When duplicating fixtures, I would like the ability to include the same patch, rather than duplicating it as unpatched.  Perhaps you could make this as a setting for people who prefer unpatched – in which case I will set it to patched.   This is a big deal when you are duplicating many fixtures to compare designs using the same fixtures.

In the Fixtures table, I would also like the ability to copy and/or paste values in multiple cells at the same time – like you can do in an excel spreadsheet.

When importing from a CSV file (like and Excel spreadsheet), I would like the ability to import Location, Unit, and Group along with everything else that is already allowed.   This way I can export, edit in Excel, and import the updates – which will be easier when I have a lot of edits to make.

P.S. All of my recent feature requests are to make it easier for a user who must design different layouts using largely the same set of fixtures.  Being the same set of fixtures, the patching does not need to change very often.  We normally use the limited set of truss/rigging as well, so it is helpful to start each design with a base set and then add or subtract and move things around.   Allowing us to do this more easily will make the design process faster.

Why do you prefer to leave Capture for another program in your feature request? I would personally prefer not to leave Capture at all. So my version of your feature request would be to make (spreadsheet) editing in the Projects->Fixtures tab much better. So, enable the arrow keys and have the Tab function like in Excel.

Regarding your question about the duplicates of fixtures, I think it is not good practice to copy patch information over. This way you can get double patch, and double channel numbers, which might end up in a mess. It is a bit counterintuitive though that making a duplicate, does not result in a one-on-one copy. As other parameters are copied (like shutters, iris, and zoom, but not intensity in live), it is a bit confusing.
