Store manual fixture control in project file

    Hi there, I use Capture quite a lot for viusalistions for quotes and pitches and often I use the manual control of lights to create some static looks. Is it possible for the session file to store this information as when I come back to the project the fixtures have lost all their "programming" values... I know the correct way to do this is via DMX from a console, but this then takes time to create and pacth a system, where maybe I am only use a handful of generic fresnels / profiles and it is fiarly quick to turn the dimmers on in capture and focus... I know it is a fairly lazy request, but would save me quite a bit of time when opening and closing files failry quickly to tweak something and then render out a visual rather than having to get console booted and connected etc. Hope this makes sense and that someone else hasn't already requested this... I did try to search this forum, but it kept coming back with a web service error...

    If you patch your fixtures, Capture will remember their states between sessions. Just be sure to save the file after you adjust fixture values because doing so doesn't necessarily set the "file has changed" flag, so Capture may not prompt you to save your file. You can also use DMX Snapshots to store and recall various states.

    To throw in a quick arbitrary patch that has nothing to do with reality, just select all of your fixtures in the Fixtures Tab and then right-click and select SEQUENTIAL-> PATCH, select a start address and let Capture do the rest. You can always replace this fake patch with the actual one later on down the line.

    I probably should have made it clear in my response above that you do not need to have a connected DMX source for this to work, just that the fixtures are patched. Capture will save all of your manual adjusments whether you make them in the control pane or in the "fixtures" mode of the Unverses tab. Same with DMX Snapshots- they work even without a dmx source.
