I do not seem to ba able to drag and drop a scroller from the library into the CAD.
Nor is it available as an accessory option.
Please advise.
is it possible to attach barndoors/similar to a scroller?

Sure it is, just make sure you drag and drop a fixture that can accept a frontmount and then drag and drop a scroller onto it.

And, in addition to Vangelis reply, you can have barndoors on top of that - choose it as the external accesory of the fixture on which the scroller is mounted!

Thank you. I was trying to make it float so that I could clone it in the CAD view, rather than having to return to the library each time I wanted one.

In case you do not know already, you can add all of your scrollers in one go.
Just wait until you have all your fixtures in position, select them all together and then just drag a scroller onto one of them. It will add a scroller to every selected light. Whilst keeping them selected you can then add your accessories in one hit too. :-)
