Greetings Capture fans!
I just put a screenshot in the library section of the Lightfactory forum. It's a Capture rendering of Pink Floyd's famous 'Division Bell' arch stage that I've been working on.
297 fixtures, and 7.5 universes

I first gathered as much info, photos, video as I could. Then I
imported some of the drawings I found into Autocad and scaled them to
real units (meters). After I had all the drawings to scale, I could
take measurements off those for use in Capture. I had to have a Telesan
IV made for Capture, but everything else was there. Several things I
guessed about due to lack of info, and I didn't realize there were 54
Varilite VL4's UNDER the stage showing up through the clear floor. I
even duplicated the 'tech deck' under the stage, complete with stairs
and a couch on the far end (as seen in the tour book).
I tried uploading to Capture, but I got a 'service unavailable'
error. I could have been doing something wrong...first time I tried
it.
I can envision this completed, with audio timecoded to lightfactory,
and the screen films as 'video' on the screen. The screen, incidentally
can be made to move as in the concert ( I tested this with Captures
motion control), and if I can figure out how I'd get the onstage
'Daleks' (with the 'Kino-flos' and VL5's ) to rise and spin, as well as
the rotating ACLs on the 'periaktoi' on the front stage edge.
I'll keep working on it as more time is available. Hard to believe you
can do this on a home PC...it took 3 or 4 consoles to do this show in
'94!
Enjoy,
Jerry Musselman
