    Hi all,

I just bought Capture Solo yesterday...I'll be using it for visualisation of amateur theatre shows. I have to start on my first show next week (our Pirate pantomine!). I've drawn the stage itself...now to the scenery...

2 main pieces of scenery I'll need to include in Capture for this show are a ship's deck, and an island with palm trees. I'll make the ship's deck out of various shapes with ship's deck texture, but I have no idea if it's possible to draw a combo of objects to simulate the island/trees (we'll have palm trees, but any trees will do for visualisation!)...I'd be grateful for some tips from you experienced users as to how I might achieve this, so I don't waste hours playing around!

    Cheers, Nige

    Hey,

If you just want it real easy and quick you could just take a picture of a palm tree an stick it on a box.

Nicer but also more work would be to build them out of cylinders and boxes and so on.

There might be more, i actually never tried to make trees so far.

Yeah, I'll have to build them the slow way, otherwise I won't see the downlight coming through. That's a limitation of not being able to import into the solo edition...i just couldn't afford the higher version right now!

Is there any way to group a selection of objects so it then moves as a single object?

    Hi,

Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click to select the objects, then click on the red spanner and select Group from the menu or use the shortcut G. To ungroup, click on one of the objects in the group to select that group, click the red spanner and select Break Group, or use the shortcut B.

You can also draw round multiple objects by holding the left mouse button and dragging around them to select them. There are slight differences in what gets selected depending upon whether you drag from right-left or left-right.

I think I saw a picture of some trees created in Capture which looked very impressive and may do for inspiration - think it was on the Facebook page?

    Thanks Rob.

Can't see the trees on Facebook...if I've missed them and someone knows where they are, please shout out!

I can see at some stage I'll have to upgrade to Extended so I can import dwg files/objects...better start saving!
