Performance lag - ways to improve this?

    Hello,

    I am currently working on a large show file on my Mac. Normally I would do this on my more powerful PC but right now this is not possible.

    I am experiencing considerable lag in paper view, so much so that I have broken away to write this. CAD view is fine, unless I have a live window open also and then CAD views slow also.

    So, to try and resolve things I have put 2 windows into CAD, in a layer set that is empty. In my paper view I am using a minimal layer set, and yet it is still laggy.

    I hoped by stripping things down it would help, but it seems even though I cannot see all my auditorium, with all the seats etc, the system still knows they are there and is suffering as a result.

    Is there any setting I should try to help improve this until I get back to my PC?

    I'm sorry to hear this. We did suffer a performance impact from our new 3D haze visualization because it forces any live view to constantly refresh. This is why having a view in live mode affects the performance of views in CAD or Paper mode. We will take a look at this to see if we can replicate the problem, in the meanwhile could you please try to change the Atmosphere to 'Haze' instead of 'Dynamic' to see if that solves the problem for you? Thank you!

    Just to clarify, I am having this trouble with the paper mode. I have not got any live screens open at all. I am running Mountain Lion on a 2011 Macbook Pro.

    It's very strange that with everything "difficult" like live views disabled, I am still experiencing this lag (of about 1 second) when trying to navigate around the paper view. CAD views are fine though.

    PLEASE NOTE: I have just opened the showfile on my Windows 7 PC and the exact opposite is the case!!!

    Paper view on PC works perfectly in the Alpha screen, but the Side CAD view in the Beta screen and the Top CAD view in the Gamma screen both suffer the delay!

    Would you like me to send you the showfile so you can see what the heck is going on here? It's really messing me up and slowing me down :-(

    Hi,

    With the latest version 2.9 of Capture, we have addressed this issue so hopefully this should be a matter of the past!
