Hi there, I'm a university student currently majoring in lighting.
I have just got to grips with this great program but my only issue is; I have the paid vision at Uni & the student vision on my laptop at home & when trying to open something created on the paid Vision on the student one it failed.
So I was just wondering is this a universal thing or is my coding a bit off?
Thanks in advance. Emmy :)

Hi there,
This is no official answer since im only just a customer aswell. Buti remember Lars saying that its just the way its gonna work: Student files are not compatible with either the Demo or any paid version.
I guess it has something to do with making sure its not possible to use all libary stuff in the student version by opening a file which allready got fixtures in it which arent a feature of the students version itself.
Hope i could help

Hi,
I can confirm what Wusa is writing. Student Edition files (c2s) only open in the Student Edition, which also does not open regular (c2p) files. The reasons are to protected our licensing model, which would be completely wasted otherwise. =)

Hi,
Export & import are not included in the Solo Edition, no.

Hi Andres,
Clarification: Import and Export means opening and saving Capture projects to other softwares using formats like 3DS, OBJ and DWG - and this is not part of the Solo Edition. However, you can reuse things you have built in Capture, across projects, by using the "Extract" feature in the File menu. This allows you to open another project in parallell and drag and drop items from it (using the red arrow buttin in the Navigator) into your design.

Lars, if I then build a project in Solo edition, and then next year I decide to updrade to Basic edition, can I not then open my Solo plan with Basic?
