    Dear Capture team / users

If any one can help on this I will buy them a drink (of their choice, when next I see them)

My laptop has an Nvidia GeForce 310m deicated 512MB graphics card.

but it also has a switch to intergrted intel graphics mode.

When I open capture in High performance mode (ie Nvidia card running) I get told that my graphics card is not capable.
I then look in help and see that everything is a Pass

But when I run in low graphics (ie intergrated graphics mode) I do not get an error and capture opens with out a fuss, but then does not render out the lights very well.

I'm very confused and would like to know why I only get the error when I'm running in performance mode????

    Hoping someone can help
    regards

    Hi David,

Incidentally we have just been polishing this warning text, but they key to it is really "..hardware and driver configuration..". While your video card may be capable, it also requires properly updated drivers! The passes on the graphics test report are no guarantee for success - they are merely preconditions.

What happens on the other graphics card is that our "old" graphics enginge (from before Capture "Polar", when we were Capture "2005") kicks in. It is a lot less pretty, but will work on many more hardware configurations. In our upcoming release we will have dubbed this "simplified graphics" and we will be turning it into a feature ;-) because with all tablets and stuff that don't have the horsepowers for fancy graphics, it's good to have a backup resolution.

I hope that answers your questions?
