You will refrain because it makes sense? That doesn't make sense!

The way Capture works with Layers and Layer Sets does take a bit of getting used to as it is different from the standard in other software where you just click on an eye to turn visibility on/off. I'm ok with that, and layer sets in particular can be very useful, but somehow it never quite feels intuitive to me. As a workaround I often have a 'working' layer set on all my views, where I can just put a tick in the include column to make things visible or not. Can I ask why I have to double click that tick box though? A single click would be help me stay sane!

Hi,

We're not refraining beacuse that only thing makes sense, but because many things make equal sense and doing them all doesn't make sense. Ie. if we add the layer set, we should also add the scene and perhaps a good handfull of other view options not available inside the view's menu. At the moment it is kept to a bare minimum because that improves comprehensibility and ease of use. This is our view on things from the start anyway; if multiple users nag us about it it is given higher priority, but at the moment this is not something many people have commented on so it remains in the beforementiones category.

Regarding having a "working" layer set, I think that's a good approach and wouldn't consider it a workaround as much as a good way of making use of the system. There is indeed a level of inconvenience about it, but we think it's less inconvenient than the alternatives (having a store/recall approach whereby naming layer visibility state is optional - this is a system that is error prone because it's too easy to store in the wrong state by mistake).

The double click is required so that you cannot change the setting by single click. This is important because sometimes you click in applications by mistake; when windows close or when without thinking twice you simply click inside an application to focus it.
