v2.10.16 stops responding on OSX

    I installed 2.10.16 on my Macbook Pro (running OSX 10.6.8) a few days ago. Now, about 80% of times when I close Capture, it stops responding during the shut down and I have to force quit.

    Is this a known issue or special for me!? Any suggestions what to check or try?

    Hi nigelj, Now it's a known issue! ;-) On a serious note, we will surely be trying to fix this. At the moment I can't say when we'll succeed though since it doesn't cause you to loose data we haven't classified it as critical.

    Not critical, just annoying! Although, it hasn't happened for a few days!

    If you need any error logs to help you trace the problem, let me know.

    OK...but, as this issue is the application stopping responding on quite, I'm not sure where I'll find the error/crash report?

    Hi, Indeed, then there's not crash report. So, we simply need to try to replace the situation here. But if it does crash, do send the report. =)

    I can see some references to Capture 'hang reports' in my system log (in Console), but they aren't in /Library/Logs any more...I cleaned up my machine with Onyx a couple of days ago so they've been deleted...sorry!

    Next time Capture hangs I now know where to find the log!

    I find the same thing still with 2.10.18 If I select Quit from the File dropdown menu (or cmd-Q) then not much happens. However if I close the project window with the red button then it closes the whole app no problem.

    Hi boac,

    I think there are two things being reported in this thread - one situation of an actual hang, and the other the fact that the Quit under the Application menu doesn't work on Mac (although it did for a while - Apple are making changes in some internal mechanics here and it's affecting us.)

    I'm not convinced that's true for all OSX versions...I'm using 10.6.8 and haven't updated for ages, but still have this problem that I didn't on earlier Capture versions!
