PCStage is a dmx converter (windows based)

    http://members.westnet.com.au/mvw/pcstage/plugins/index.html

On their website under the plugins they have got a link to capture 2005 website also there is a file that you download and run as a plugin in pcstage that connects the two programs togather. Ive try and try and still no look! Can anyone help??

    Mike,

Unless I am missing something, I cannot see anything on that page that references Capture!!

Unless PC Stage will output either a networkable DMX protocol (i.e. ArtNet, CITP etc) , or you have Capture on another PC with an appropiate DMX in hardware the two will obviously not connect!

Supported DMX is listed in the reference manual:

    Hi Mike,

For reasons I am sure you will understand I do not want to post my email on a public forum. As you do not have your email listed in your profile either, that leaves us a bit stuck!

If you could zip the plugin along with a text file containing your email address and upload it to somewhere like www.yousendit.com (Send the file to your own email address) it will then give you a link for the download which you can post here which will be valid for 7 days. I will try and have a look, but I have no experience with PCstage, I use LightFactory (www.lifact.com) !

If you have to use 2 laptops then simply having the two connected via DMX would be an effective, if not expensive solution!

Laptop 1 with PCstage and USB DMX out interface

Laptop 2 with USB DMX in interface and Capture

Presumably the PCstage plugin is getting the current dimmer levels, and sending them to Capture, whilst your USB dongle outputs DMX, but thats just a guess! Quite what or how remains to be seen.

    Regards,

    Paul

    Paul,

I understand where you are coming from. You can download the plugin from http://79.170.40.33/vivid...uk/capturelevels.zip download and unzip and copy to plugin folder under pcstage in "C" drive. Take it capture only workes if you have a network address / dmx converter? instead of USB.

PCStage is very user friendly and i dont think it wil take you long to workout how to use it.

Let me know how u get on.

    Mike,

Ok, I have tested PCStage with the CaptureLevels plugin, and I have found that it does not work with Capture 2005.

As the date modified on the plugin is 2005, I tried it with Capture 3.0.31 and it does work fine. This led me back to try the Capture 2005 CITP Compatible Mode, but this still does not work.

I can only suggest that you go back to the authors of the CaptureLevels plugin and ask them to take a look at updating it. I do not believe there a reason it could not be made to work.

    Regards,

    Paul

    Hi,

We don't have 3.0.31 available as a public download anymore. But if you drop me an e-mail on lars@capturesweden.com I will send you a download link!
