New to this so maybe I'm missing something... I want to produce a plot with a perspective view. I insert the view, change the properties so that it is Perpective, can change the Layer set, so far so good. When I go to manipulate the view using the red arrows I can drag the angle of the camera around no problem but if I hold shift and drag to move the camera sideways it doesn't work, just starts selecting things. Bug or am I doing something wrong? Running Capture 2.10.18 on Mac

you have to press the arrows first and the press shift.
it works, but since it's not the same as in other views it's a little anoying.

Thanks, that works. It is weird though that it is different though.

I know. There is also no "undo" in the plot section so if u forget when to press shift u can mess up the plot.

    Hi guys,

That's well spotted and I can see how that's annoying. Added to the bug list!

As for undo - sure there is undo (but yes, the keyboard shortcuts don't work well - a major keyboard shortcut overhaul is scheduled!).

    Hi,

Yes, it has been fixed for the next version, but since it was part of a bigger overhaul it won't go into our intermediate bug fix releases.

I think there is definitely a bug there at the moment. Sometimes the shift-drag of the view stops working and only the angle of the camera is changed. Not sure what makes it stop working but closing the plot and reopening it seems to rest it and it works again.

Also, I think what Hebbe meant was that Undo does not work on view changes, so if you drag the view around (and mess it up because the shift-drag stopped working) you cannot undo that.

    Hi,

You need to first click on the navigation button before you press shift because of a conflict with the multiselection function that we hope to resolve soon.

Not including camera positions in the undo buffer is intentional because it simply doesn't work well. The camera would need a separate undo buffer and way of stepping back/forward in it. This is something for the future at the moment. :-)
