    Heloo, my name is Rrnato Machado. I'm a Mac OSX User and alight designer from Brasil and I'm studing the possibility of buy a license of capture. For this I'm trying to woork with Demo version. I have two questions: How can I get a Black Out? Even when the spots are not flashing, I always can see the venue and stuff. If my Venue has an Avolite Peral 2004 console, for example. May I connect the console with Capture? How? Witch interface I mst use?

    Hello Renato,

    To begin with your blackout question you can change the ambient lighting from the setting of each view. Take it to 0% if you need it totally blackout. Make sure you read our manual regarding it and also to play with the rest of the percentages too like the atmosphere in order to reach the end result you need.

    Now, regarding the pearl 2004 you can use the midi to serial cable that came with your console and also the ACDI utility from avolites in order to connect with Capture. I would not advise you though to go that way as the serial connection has a slow refresh rate for the needs of dmx and it is also guaranteed that it will slow down your console. The best way to go would be an enttec dmx usb pro , or any other dmx to artnet converter be that usb or ethernet.
