Photoshop and other Adobe apps can do basic calculations right in the text fields. This is extremely handy.

For instance, in a given width field, you might type "10.6 / 2", hit enter, and the new width value would be "5.3".

Even better when you can mix units. For instance, (35.2m + 6").

I'd love to see Capture implement this kind of functionality!

    Thank you for considering.

Have you tried it already in Capture? Cause it is already there! Make sure you give it a try by selecting an item and under the selected items of the design tab enter some values in fields like width , depth height etc...

Ah! I see you are correct, at least for addition and subtraction! I had tried only division (with "/") and multiplication (with " *").

Great to already have part of this feature implemented. Thank you for pointing it out! :-)

So, I now revise my request to ask for division and multiplication!

    Added!!

Just kidding as it is already there too :) Try it once more simply like this: 5*5 , 20/10 . Or even like this (2+(5*4))/2 ... enjoy!

I see! :-) You are correct, at least in some fields. These calculations are indeed there and work brilliantly -- except in the place where I was first attempting!

They do NOT work in the Center X, Center Y, Center Z fields. Addition and subtraction work, but not division or multiplication. I was trying to use calculations to evenly distribute objects mathematically.

    Maybe it's a bug?

Try entering "10/2" or "5*2" in the Center X, Center Y, or Center Z fields. Doesn't seem to work.

    Hi,

It is a bug in a way - or at least a limitation. The Center X/Y/Z fields are quite special and have actually been removed in our upcoming product Capture Argo.
