Ok so i've been looking at both a new GTX580 or a GTX 560 Ti, as the new kepler architecture is not expected any time soon. A GTX570 is only marginally faster than the 560Ti for the added cost, so I don't consider that an option.

Thing is, I can buy 2x GTX 560Ti for less than a GTX580 and when looking at most gaming benchmarks they perform either almost equal or the dual card setup performs better.

So now I ask: is Capture compatible with running SLI? I would end up bulking up 2x GTX 560 Ti 1GB, so I would have about the same GPU power as a GTX580 but .5 GB more graphics ram...

About the CUDA thing: I only suggested it if you can run it on a second GPU. Especially for notebooks this would also be awesome, since I see a lot of them pop up with 2 graphics cards where they disable the second one to save power when not running graphics intensive apps.

Hi desolation,

Yes, Capture is compatible with SLI / Crossfire. But you never really get double performance with SLI anyway and for SLI you need to pay extra for the motherboard. I would probably have gone for a single 480 card, unless you're looking for something extreme.. :-)

No not extreme, but 2x GTX560 Ti is cheaper than 1x GTX580 these days as many people throw them on the market to get the new ATI 7000 series. And you get (in game benches) about the same performance. About any decent Intel board runs SLI and CF out of the box these day (even my "old" X58), so it's good to know I can chose that path if I want to.

A 4XX series i'm not looking at. Too loud, too power hungry.
I just want to buy a graphics card that will last me for a good 2 years again like my GTX260 did. Might as well cash out 100EUR more and bet on safe, especially with the big leaps in visualition quality you guys are making these days ;)
