Changing Fixture Types?

    On this tour we use the same plot for several cities, but sometimes the local vendor will replace a Viper with a VL3500, or a Sharpy with a Platinum Beam, or a Mac301 with a Volkslicht.

    Is it possible to change the type of a fixture, without having to delete the old fixtures and then placing each new fixture on the plot? I don't want to change the layout, only the type of fixture.

    For example, in Vectorworks it is possible to select all the old fixtures and press "Replace With Selected Fixture Type".

    In the Project window just go to Fixtures then sort by name, click the first one, then hold down shift and click the last one so the whole group by that name is selected. You should see them all selected in any of the CAD windows. Then go to library, pick the fixture to replace, drag that line from library window onto any one of the selected fixtures in one of the CAD windows, you'll see it highlight when you one the right spot, and it will replace all that have been selected. I think it will loose the patch info so hopefully if the patching is sequential you can just rematch. Apologies if you already knew this and question is for something different.
