Hallo
I wrote already last week to ask advice about the possibility to use capture on the following laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad Y50-70, OS: Windows 8.1, Hard disk: 1 TB SSHD , Processor: 4e Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ, 8 GB of memory that can be upgraded to 16 GB, Graphic card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 860M 2 GB
Lars suggested to try to actually run the program on it. I followed his suggestion (thanks a lot for it) and I purchased the laptop as I realized that there is the possibility to try it and give it back to the store with full refunding within 2 weeks.
So I brought the machine home and I downloaded Argo's student edition with the club demo project to try how it goes. The software seems to work, I couldn't do a lot with it yet but I noticed immediately that the live mode gets slower when I put it to full screen. This is evident particularly when I put on the shutter (strobe) effect to full speed in some moving lights. The strobe speed results much lower with the window at full screen Is this normal?
Sk8rsdad (other member of the forum) said that argo runs fine on his Y50-70 with fairly complicated projects, so I am wondering if there is anything I could do to solve the problem. May be some setting to change? I tried to lower the screen resolution and it helps a bit but doesn't solve it completely, even when I put it to the minimum (1024x768). Or should I conclude that the laptop is not a good choice for the software? Notice that my version of the laptop has a FHD display, so it is not the 4k Ultra High Definition version
Thank you in advance Marco
