A quick search did not reveal this as that was not what I was asking. I'm not asking about mirroring objects I'm asking if there is a way to add a reflective surface as a material.

    OOOOps.

    Now I revealed that I am a dork. ;-)

I thought i read something recently about reflective material.

    Now I found this entry

    http://www.capturesweden....e/posts/Default.aspx .

According to the entry the answer still is no. :-(

I hope this time I give you an answer to your question.

    Best Regards

Very difficult to render mirror/reflection in near real-time. If it is just for a static look you could take a snapshot and then use photo shop or something to create a mirror of the snapshot then bring that into Capture as a texture.

I just came from a demo today where the entire stage in the visualiser scene was reflective. They were maintaining about 30 fps. So it can be done.

    Hi,

No, that is not Capture Argo, that is from a competitor's product. So yes, this can be done, and we know how to. But keep in mind that this thread was spawned from another thread where reflective surfaces were discussed in another context, one of a surface actually being able to bounce light and beams off of it so that it would hit other objects. The screenshot posted and the possibilities with this only goes half the way - it only mirrors the light that the camera sees, you can't create a mirrorball or pepper's ghost effect with it.

    Lars,

I see! I think this probably the same software that I saw in the demo last week as well.

Looks really nice but the UI leaves much to be desired. I'd love to have at least this basic reflection ability because, as a presentation tool, it looks pretty! I know you guys are very busy and I only mention this as a re qeust, I'm on board with capture and I love it! Just trying to make it the best it can be!

Thanks for all you guys do!
