Agree about the position field. You can get the weight of a group of items by selecting them and then pressing the "?" symbol on the selection.

You could put each "position" on a different layer then sort by that in your spreadsheet

What do you mean by position? Is it the XYZ coordinates or something else?

I think I mean the same as Joe,

In Wysiwig, there is the concept of naming a truss or pipe as a position, that allows you to groups things by it. so it becomes a named group of items. that you can report against. THe key here being its named. and can consit of items from more than one layer.

so "FOH bar 1" "truss 1"

so for example in the fixture report you could sub group based on position so when you give the report to a crew they know what quantiy of each lantern are going to hang on which bar from the report without needing a plan as well

It would just be an additional filed to add to fixtrue sheets.

WYG has the really irritating requirement that a light HAS to be in a position, and a position HAS to be created.

If it were just a field column on the fixture sheet so you can assign a number of different fixtures to say "TRUSS 1" or "Floor package" or some other location to make sorting easier.
