Hi, Argo Solo user (and I love it!).

Is there an easier way to control the X+Y of a moving light rather than the small click and drag square?

I have use Martin MSD before and one option was to look through the picture and control it with the mouse/trackpad, that way if you wanted a moving light to backlight the singer, you selected it and then 'looked through it' to position it exactly. Make sense?

I use the software without a console mainly and to create positions and looks with the existing X/Y control is tricky.

any thoughts or plans to improve the X/Y control of a fixture?

    Thanks!

You can use right click to point the selected fixtures at the place where your mouse is, hold right click down and they will follow as you drag the mouse around the view window.

Hi and thanks for the reply!

I cant seem to get this to work at all. Im on a Mac, right click is the 'control' key and then click trackpad. If I select fixtures and then control click the cursor just selects what I am pointing at, doesnt move my previously selected fixtures. Am I missing something?

    Many thanks in advance!

There are other ways to right click on Mac... see System Preferences>Point and Click>Secondary click. I have mine set up for two finger click, but actually when using Capture I usually use an actual mouse (Logitech with two buttons, not the overpriced Apple thing), I find it so much easier for working with drawings in general.

This right click to point the lights feature is really useful to focus a few lights on a specific spot, but to create full looks using a console will be much, much easier. Chamsys MagicQ is just one option for software that you can run on the same computer and will connect directly with Capture, you should try it!
