Im running capture along with avolites D4 simulator on the same computer, via an ACDI from avolites. Recently Ive found that any movement with a time fade will freeze halfway throug the move, as if the DMX stream stops. When I send new DMX info, for example a new colour or gobo, the move will continue. This also happens with movement chases and shapes. Funny thing is, when I use my skype phone on same computer, then it all works fine. Its almost as if some connectuion or port on the PC closes and then opens again for skype...(I know it sounds weird, but ..)

    Anyone else had similar experience

    "Windows networkless problems
If your computer is not connected to a network at all but you wish to work with software based controllers on the same computer it may be necessary to install the Microsoft Loopback adapter. The process is simple and described at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839013"

    Try this!

I dont think this is the problem. Firstly capture and D4 does talk and I get very fast responses on all other aspects(gobo, colour, movement without timing..etc).

I also have had capture work for the last 3 years without problems, and I do have the loopback adapter installed and working. But the ACDI should work without this anyway

    But thanks for replying

oh, and just found another weird thing. If I have a rotating gobo in the lights, the movement is smooth, but as soon as I put a static gobo in, the lights freezes again....????

    Anyone??
