Is there a way that the light can pass through an object that isn't solid like glass or plexi? Thanks

    Hi,

    Yes.

If you make a new material and apply that material to an object, you can then change the material's transparency under the material's properties window.

I'd be happy to step you through it you'd like

    Ahhh!
    I see what you mean.

I suspended an object off the floor and back lit the object to find that it's casting a shadow on the floor. I found that glass and plexi does this as well.

    Now you've got my attention!

Maybe the Capture Team can help wit this one?

Yea Im working on a very important project that relies heavily on light going through fabric/transparent walls, a bit disappointed by this. Thanks for the help I appreciate it. Hopefully it can be resolved.

Hi Sorry for the late post,

there is a cast-shadow-property for every object, turn it off for all your transparent objects and light will go through.

    All the best Marco

    Marco,

    You're awesome!! That did it!

I forgot all about that property.

    Cheers!

This is some kind of workaround, but if you have transparency set to 50% it should cast a 50% shadow, if that makes sense.
