I am having this Voodoo issue with Fog since I changed to Capture Atlas.

Sometimes, I can't say when it happens, but a certain project suddenly don't have fog any more.

I can't seem to bring it back in any way.

I tried adding Smoke machines, and patching them but it doesn't work.

When creating a new Project there is Fog, without any added Smoke machine fixtures.

So where is the setting for the fog?

I know there has been a change in Atlas, and there is no more the render setting for Atmosphere.

    Is this a bug?

    Hey,

    Don't think it's a bug.

My first go with Atlas from Agro, I had a similar experience with working the smoke in the visualizer, but once I got it figured out, I realized this change is a much better way using smoke and its settings.

To start, patching smoke machines from the Fixture's Library is not going to create the smoke in the visualizer. However, it does help with plots/paperwork to show location and assignments for real machines.

In the 2D view of the project that you don't have smoke, click on the menu button of the lower right (view) navigation controls. This opens a sub-menu. Half way down you'll see Widgets. Make sure it's checked. This will show the Alpha, Beta,Gamma camera's physical location and the smoke icon. It looks like a little white cloud. Now depending on the zoom of your 2D view, you may have to pull out to reveal the smoke icon. By default, the smoke centers itself to the size of the project.

Once you've found the little white cloud icon, click it and press [Enter]. This will show the smoke's properties that you'll remember from Agro and a few additions.

    In its Properties;
-First check that Hidden has No selected.
-Next check that Auto-size has Yes selected.
-Next check it's Density's % (3rd item from the bottom), and confirm that percentage is above 1%.

Now..if you do not have the little smoke icon, click on the library tab and scroll to bottom to find the Smoke "fixture" (for lack of a better identifier) and drag and drop it into the 2D view.

    Hope this helps!

Be sure to check out Page 15 of Capture's v22.0 manual for details regarding atmosphere as well as other changes and enhancements.

    Best,
    Johnny
