I have noticed a huge performance drop in my files where I have many objects - whether it be 10-12 sketchup imports, several hundred LED video panel objects, or just building a venue or space with objects within Capture itself.

With objects hidden I see a no dip in expected performance.

Using the OpenGL engine (as to still utilize transparencies), Capture 2018, most recent update.

    My specs:

    AMD Ryzen 7 2700

    GTX 1080Ti FE

    16gb of Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz

    Samsung 970 Evo m.2 SSD 500gb

The aforesaid performance drop is not displayed in any performance monitoring program such as CPU-Z, GPU-Z, HW Monitor, or Task Manager. It just purely loses frames without stressing my hardware any further.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, while still being able to stay within the legacy OpenGL engine as my drawing is dependent on object transparencies.

    The same.

You have to optimize the model. For example by replacing multiple LED screen panels with one plane or something, reducing amount of polygons and so on and merging multiple objects into one object.

By the way. Once i build a massive Layher-like structure made of box primitives instead of pipes and i had really slow fps. I remember when i exported this structure (grouped) from Nexum in dwg and then re-imported this model back in project, it became a single object and Capture was running way much faster. In 2018 it seems like export options might have changed but it would be very useful to add some options for this kind of situations.

    Hi,

I just wanted to mention that transparencies are now available in the new rendering engine as well!
