Hi, is there a way to connect Capture Polar to MA Lighting's onPC (series 1) with both programs running on the same laptop, using dual monitors to view both programs? I have a win7 system 64bit. I can get Polar to connect to MA desks and also to another laptop running onPC by networking the two, that is fine. I'm after using both programs to visualize and pre-program while touring when away from the venue in a hotel etc. If you need any other info please let me know.

    Hi Alex,

Yes, this is definitely possible! You will need to pay attention to your network configuration in order to make it work though - and you may need to install the "Microsoft Loopback Adapter". This page appears to feature a tutorial for Windows 7: http://www.windowsreferen...adapter-in-windows-7

Hi Lars, many thanks, seems another feature of Win7 that is hidden away, a few great things in Win7 but hard to find - typical Windows! Funnily enough I had got the two programs to connect just before your reply, by some dedicated playing around with my network adapter - I'll outline the points below in case it's of use to others. a) Set your pc / laptop network adapter to automatic detection / assign of an IP address (TCP/IP or TCP/IPv4). b) In the connectivity options of Capture (Universes Tab, right click in External Universes), set it to your network adapter (with its auto-generated address), you may need to investigate your pc / laptop till you know this. c) Restart Capture to accept the settings. d) in MA onPC, set the IP address to the MA internal loopback (127.0.0.1) and re-start onPC to accept this. e) Start a 'session' in MA onPC and note your 'session ID No.'. f) In Capture, click the Universes Tab, right click in External Universes and then click on MA-Net, this will launch a pop-up, choose whether you want MA-Net1 or MA-Net2 and now enter your MA 'session ID No.' in the other box. Click the 'start' button in this pop-up. g) All being well Capture should now generate 64 Universes that are auto addressed. h) Assign your MA Universes to the Capture ones (if not already done by default) and begin to program your lights or control the rig. Must admit you do need a little patience to get your head around the IP addresses, once that bit is done its fairly straight forward! If I've missed anything or not explained it correctly then please post the corrections. Alex.
