Light going through objects.

I recently updated to Windows 7 Ultimate version, which caused me to re-install Capture Polar. So I upgraded to the latest version of Capture, 2.4.12.

The problem that I have is the light from my fixtures is going through the stage. When I rotate the perspective view to the side or bottom of the stage, the light from the fixture is coming thru it. The stage is not acting upon the light and stopping it from going through. It seems that the stage is transparent. I have tried applying a material to the stage but that didn’t change anything. I tweaked all of the stage settings for Transparency, AffectsLight, Hidden, Include in scenes and Material with no changes.

Also tried using a box with the same results.

I feel like it is something real simple that I am not doing, but can't figure it out.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi feranger33,

After updating Windows, I would recommend downloading the latest graphics card drivers (typically from NVidia or AMD, depending on your graphics card). That can work wonder! If you're on ATI/AMD, we recommend the "Catalyst" drivers.

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately updating to the latest drivers from ATI/AMD with Catalyst did not solve my issue.

It fixed that some of my labels looking like solid objects when I was moving views around. However, now selecting a fixture or object in a view, causes my other views to become jumbled and not viewable. In About, all of the graphics tests have passed except GL_ARB_color_buffer_float.

The major issue for me is still that the light is still going through the stage, black box, box forms and other objects. Nothing seems to affect the light. I also have to set Atmosphere to anywhere between 50% and 100% to even see the light coming out of the fixture.

Do you have any other thoughts?

    Hi feranger33,

Ah, then Capture isn't using Polar graphics! Was it passing the GL_ARB_color_buffer_float test before you upgraded Windows?
