Simon, Do you get this error when you first start Capture? If yes, try updating/installing latest QuickTime.. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ I had a similar problem which was resolved by this. Quicktime seems to be required for the new video support.. Pleased to see the video support, but shame it requires quicktime :-( If this is your problem, Lar's can you not make the installer check for quicktime, or at least provide a more friendly error from Capture?!? Hope this helps, Paul

    Hi,

We have discovered that a few users are unable to start Capture after upgrading to 2.5.8. We believe this issue is related to an incompatible version of the library update file that was available a couple of days around the release.

If you are getting crashes on startup of a newly upgraded machine, please try the following:

    a) Manually delete the library folder. On Windows typically the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Capture Polar\Library" folder and on Mac OX X the "Macintosh HD/Library/Capture Polar/Library" folder.
    b) Start Capture and allow it to install the default library.
    c) (Optional: download and install the latest library update)

If that does not help, please contact me by e-mail and attach your log-file (called 'Capture.log', to be found in your Windows users' home directory, or under your Mac OS X users Library/Logs folder).

    Hi Paul,

Capture only requires QuickTime if you want to play back video files. As this is an Extended Edition feature we decided not to force a QuickTime installation on everyone, especially as the installer is unaware of your licensing status.

    Hi Netta,

Are you on XP or something newer? If on something newer, this sounds like a typical graphics card issue and then you should try updating your graphics card drivers!

    Hi korennet,

Well, that is no guarantee. If Capture crashes when you create a new or open an existing project, then it's almost certainly caused by bad graphics card drivers. We always recommend getting the latest directly from NVidia or AMD.
