Improve render performance with camera moves

    I'm looking for suggestions to improve render performance (via "Render Movie") on snapshots that contain camera movement.  These renders are currently being exported at >1fps, which seems strange considering these renders also take several hours to complete.  I initially tried to create the snapshots using data from multiple sACN sources -- one source for the camera movement data and one source for the fixture data -- however this seems to produce renders that are effecitvely 0fps.  Combining the streams such that they appear to come from one control device improves peformance markedly, however it's still well under 1fps.  There is another forum post that suggests disabling the live view during recording of the snapshot, however this does not seem to improve render performance.  Decreasing model complexity is not an option.

    If this is an issue of Capture discarding DMX frames while recording the snapshot, is there another way to get this data into Capture (i.e. pcap, etc.)?

    Hi,

    I'm sorry but I don't follow you at all. You talk about exporting, rendering, performance and fps. The only way of exporting a movie snapshot from Capture is by rendering it to an mp4 file and such files are always 25 fps.

    If the problem is render times then the only way to reduce it is by reducing the complexity of the design or rendering at a lower resolution.

    As above, I am exporting a movie via the "Render Movie" option which generates an mp4.  And while the file may be 25 fps, the effective fps is far lower (as per my message).  The movie will hold on an image for a second or longer, jump to a new image, and then hold again.

    I would suggest you contact support@capture.se and share your project file with a recorded snapshot of the movie that when rendered gives this strange result.
