    Hello ,

I am trying to use the alpha channel and cast shaddows with lights. My setup is:

Resolume Arena 7 (playing a vaideo with a green screen) -> NDI to capture -> Added a box in capture -> changed the depth to 0mm -> added a texture using the NDI feed with alpha to mask/blend and playing with the attribute but no luck so far.  I tried using different lights to cast the shaddow and i also tried the internal media server but this didn't helped at all.

What object should i use to add the texture on? Is there any other properties expect the alpha settings like the transparency of the object?

Ive seen people do it but no one really showed/explained how to properly do it. Lars answered a question from a previus Q&A regarding this topic and said that a feuture video will come up soon but unfortunelty didn't.

    Any help is really appreciated.

    Thanks indeed!

If you have a surface to which you applied a material connected to a video feed with alpha channel, and you project light onto this surface, then these will not interact to create shadows based on your content.

In cases you have seen for example an actor and their shadow on the floor then the shadows were not produced by Capture, but they were part of the same video, or another video carefully positioned in the 3d world for the purpose.
