I usually do all the Design and Plot work in capture including circuits and wiring (I just used the distance tool beforehand), but I do all the additional calculations (load per circuit, Dimmer Hook Up, Voltage Drop) in Excel. My problem is all the wiring data I put into Capture are basically useless for this as there is no way to get them properly exported. Having all the cables exported as seperate elements in the fixture data would be a tremendous workflow improvement to me as it finally bridges a gap between capture and excel.
As the we’re talking cable runs with the new cable tool I think it would be an incredible improvement if we could use the drawn cable run more as a path to assign multiple cables on. A bit like Vectorworks new cable tools just much simpler. Something like Drawing a cable run and then being able to tell it, you’re 2x Lectriflex and 4x Ethernet. When thinking about my first feature request, all these cables should then still export as separate elements and not as a single cable run.
And finally some smart solutions to wire up individual fixtures with plugboxes etc. would be very welcome as well
