Hi All
So I'm 99% convinced Capture is the way to go. I had a few questions though before I commit, so if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for so many of them.
Thanks again
Mike
Question 1: I noticed Capture doesn't support a focus function for moving head fixtures only conventional fixtures, I can understand this could be a fair bit of processing power for the computer to process while the light moves about, however is this on the cards for future development? As this obviously effects offline programming adding another task to do when tiding up the show when one arrives at the venue.
Question 2: I'm using some Robe ColourSpot 575AT's and when they receive a signal in capture from the ArtNet protocol, their home position is parallel to the red square (which I'm guessing is symbolizing an LCD screen?) when yet the actuarial home position is meant to be perpendicular to one another. Is it possible to edit a fixtures settings? Or maybe this is best for the "request list" like a option in the fixture settings to assign a degree for the fixtures default home position?
Is there any plans in the future of a fixture creator to become availiable for people to create their own fixtures for use and possibly share with others?
Question 3: Currently it seems all fixtures are displayed the same, is the team working on 3D models of each light? I understand this could be a hard task.
Question 4: In the settings of a fixture it displays its position for either the X, Y, Z axis as for example "3m 658mm"
Is this format common, would it be possible to get a setting somewhere in the software to change this to simply just Millimeters?
Comment 1: While playing with Capture 2.6.9 Demo on my mac I noticed I could only close the application through the "x" button of the window, capture wouldn't close through the menu bar. Has anyone experienced this?
Comment 2: Does this forum have RSS?
Comment 3: Along with My Robe 575AT's, I use some Martin MAC250+ fixtures, in the gobo wheel the second last gobo is only a colour. I know I could update this manually however I have located the gobo as an image and perhaps this could be added to the fixture library for other users? Please see the image below, it might require some re scaling and adjustments to suit.
