    Hi All
So I'm 99% convinced Capture is the way to go. I had a few questions though before I commit, so if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for so many of them.
    Thanks again
    Mike

Question 1: I noticed Capture doesn't support a focus function for moving head fixtures only conventional fixtures, I can understand this could be a fair bit of processing power for the computer to process while the light moves about, however is this on the cards for future development? As this obviously effects offline programming adding another task to do when tiding up the show when one arrives at the venue.

Question 2: I'm using some Robe ColourSpot 575AT's and when they receive a signal in capture from the ArtNet protocol, their home position is parallel to the red square (which I'm guessing is symbolizing an LCD screen?) when yet the actuarial home position is meant to be perpendicular to one another. Is it possible to edit a fixtures settings? Or maybe this is best for the "request list" like a option in the fixture settings to assign a degree for the fixtures default home position?
Is there any plans in the future of a fixture creator to become availiable for people to create their own fixtures for use and possibly share with others?

Question 3: Currently it seems all fixtures are displayed the same, is the team working on 3D models of each light? I understand this could be a hard task.

Question 4: In the settings of a fixture it displays its position for either the X, Y, Z axis as for example "3m 658mm"
Is this format common, would it be possible to get a setting somewhere in the software to change this to simply just Millimeters?

Comment 1: While playing with Capture 2.6.9 Demo on my mac I noticed I could only close the application through the "x" button of the window, capture wouldn't close through the menu bar. Has anyone experienced this?

Comment 2: Does this forum have RSS?

Comment 3: Along with My Robe 575AT's, I use some Martin MAC250+ fixtures, in the gobo wheel the second last gobo is only a colour. I know I could update this manually however I have located the gobo as an image and perhaps this could be added to the fixture library for other users? Please see the image below, it might require some re scaling and adjustments to suit.

    Hi Mike,

Let's shed some light on your questions!

Question 1 - Technologically speaking we support it for moving heads as well, but need to go through all fixture in the library and add this information. If there's a particular set of fixtures you're working with, you'd be welcome to send us a list and we can give this higher priority.

Questioin 2 - We will not be releasing any library editor for Capture, however you're welcome to e-mail us any problems or correction requests and we will be happy to fix it. In terms of user correction, you can swap pan and tilt but not (yet) enter an offset in any number of degrees.

Question 3 - Fixtures look quite similar yes, although always to scale and with slight variations. We are not working on accurate 3D models at the moment though.

Question 4 - The "Xm YZWmm" format is not user configurable at the moment, and this would be the first comment we hear regarding it. What might be worth knowing is that it's perfectly fine to enter "XYZWmm" or "X.YZWm" or just "X.YZW" when entering values manually. In fact it's even got a built-in calculator. But once input, it will show in the "Xm YZWmm" for the time being.

Comment 1 - We have some issues with this on the Mac, yes. We are planning a general overhaul of the keyboard shortcuts in Capture quite soon.

Comment 2 - Yes, at the bottom left of each of our three forums is a well hidden RSS-button, just to the left of the "page x of y" label.

Comment 3 - If I understand you, you're suggesting a library correction right? That's definitely something we would want to do! =)

Lars Thanks for your quick reply!
All your answers are great! I'll go ahead and purchase the basic edition after writing this, hopefully I'll receive the key so I can play with it over the weekend ;)

Question 1 - It would be great if you could apply the focus to Robe ColourSpot 575AT & Martin MAC 250+
Im sure lots of people using these brands would be appreciative of it ;)

Question 2 - No worries about the fixture creator, I'm guessing there's an email address to request the creation of fixtures? Is the offset feature for moving head fixtures in the pipeline?

Question 3 - Thats okay, I'm sure there are higher priorities :)

Question 4 - Maybe I'm a bit picky :P hehehe hopefully there could be an option in the future ;)

Comment 1 - Awesome I look forward to it

Comment 2 - Just found it, Thanks!

Comment 3 - A library correction is correct, its just missing a gobo and has a colour instead, it would be great if the above gobo could be added. Thanks :)

I do have one last question, I run a three computer setup
    1) Windows 7 Desktop - on my Desk
    2) Mac - Main LSC Clarity Computer
    3) Toshiba Tablet Windows XP - hopefully for visitation work while on the move
Will this be okay to register all three? I understand you allow two before asking questions....

Thanks again and sorry for all the questions, I do appreciate it, just wanted to confirm everything :)

I sure am! Its great to finally be able to save some drawings.
Well worth it! Thanks for creating such a great program.

Awesome cheers! I'm still in the process of setting up the third computer.

I have to upgrade my desktops graphics card too i think as It's currently getting an error saying it cant use capture polar graphics, and when i move an item, the measurements turn into a red square. I'll test the laptop first with 2.5.8 before registering the key file ;)

On my mac I cant seem to create a separate window to drag it to another monitor output. I can double click on the View bar which makes it full screen, can the mac separate the views like on a PC?

Is there an option to invert the mouse scroll wheel, I'm use to it inverted to how its set up currently, no big deal i can handle it, but is it on a future list?

Is a future list available to be viewed somewhere, would be nice to see updated lists as you add and remove stuff ;)

Also when you update the library files, does that email people to say there's an update?

    Cheers ;)

    Hello Mike,

    welcome aboard!

whenever you need something regarding the libraries feel free to mail at library@capturesweden.com or me directly and your request will be server in a couple of days.

at the moment there is no list of new fixture editions or corrections as i would prefer spending time on creating more fixtures than updating lists. whenevr you need something search for it inside the library and you will find it.

    cheers
