    Hi Capture team,

Though of creating my own fixture icon (DWG) file and add into paper mode.

Normally, after I have finished the Visualization, I had to draw in DWG to send to my client and technical crew. So I was wondering if I could just change from Capture paper mode to modify to my own fixture DWG.

Just change the icon in paper mode to replace with user DWG file.

Eg, all the moving light icon in Capture paper mode shows the same icon.

Maybe have add-in function to replace the icon and allow user to import DWG?

    Cheers,

    Nick Ho

Although not part of the Capture team, I feel I can in part add something to this...

All the symbols used for the plots are from the USITT standard.

    http://www.usitt.org/book...ail&sku=Web5

There are several 'flaws' in my opinion in this standard. One being the lack of Short Nose Par symbol and the second that the fixtures have rated values on the moving heads rather than the name so as an example Mac 700 Profile actually shows as Moving Head Profile 950W.

I have previously asked about changing these and other things related to the plots, for example making the fixture symbol the colour of the gel, hopefully its all on the consideration/to-do-list.....

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi,

Yes, the USITT standard (it's actually still a draft) does have it's flaws. However, I'm sure we can use it as a good building block to achieve something even better! I appreciate that they haven't taken it any further than this so that the last piece of the standard can evolve among those who use it..

As for using custom sybols and having more manufacturer specific symbols, this is something that we are looking into as part of our library work now!
