I feel like I read somewhere that capture does not do USB licence keys as there are diffrences selling software vs physical goods. Would capture ever consider user installable USB license keys in a similar manner to what QLab has done? See: https://qlab.app/docs/v5/...censes/#usb-licenses for how they do it. I like this as it would make it easier to move workstations.

As I understand there will be a change in how the software is licensed starting from version 2024. This should make it easier to transfer a license between two workstations.

This could be an interesting option to allow very easy use with any machine. Using codemeter dongles might be a good option here as it's a pre-existing method and can allow both USB and direct hardware installation of licenses. They're also much less obtrusive than something like ilok or sentinel, but maintain the security of the license system.

There was a point in the webcast about doing offline installs where you don't have any access to the internet, which this would be a very easy way of solving.

Could potentially go with something similar to what resolume offer, which is the choice between having a dongle license or a software license. This is a one time choice, and licenses aren't able to be switched between the two.

Hopefully with the new Capture 2024 licencing changes the need for a hardware dongle will shrink.
