Under the motto "Together for your future." on the 2nd of February, the Austrian Theatre Technical Society (OETHG), the Swiss Association of Technical Stage and Event Professions (svtb) and the Interessengemeinschaft Veranstaltungswirtschaft (IGVW) with their 16 German member associations launched the educational platform EventCampus for trainees in the theatre and event professions. It serves to promote practical education and is a supplement to school and company teaching.
As the first project of the EventCampus, the competition Next Lightshow was initiated!
From the 15th of February trainees in the theatre and event professions from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein could submit 45 to 90-second videos of rendered or filmed light shows in the categories live, theatre, fixed objects/trade fair and animation. After the submission deadline, the projects face an online voting procedure from the 28th of March to the 10th of April in the public vote in order to be evaluated by a jury of experts according to the criteria idea/innovation, technical implementation and sound selection until the 24th of April. The winning works will be awarded on the 27th of April at the Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt and we are so much looking forward to it, and of course to seeing you all in our Capture stand 12.1 B38.
